The After School Club

Are you looking for quality care for your children after school?

The After School Club offers licensed out-of-school care for children in grades one through six and also those enrolled in afternoon kindergarten, on weekday afternoons when Bowen Island Community School is in session.

This Bowen Children’s Centre program is situated within Bowen Island Community School, which allows students to make a smooth transition from classrooms to out-of-school care. Children may attend on a regular (full- or part-time) or drop-in basis. The program also accepts school-age children who attend other schools, and those who are home-schooled.

Check it out – the Club is in Room #5 at BICS, and it doesn’t look like a classroom at all. There’s big, comfortable furniture to lounge on, an air hockey table, a fabulous dress-up/drama collection, loads of Lego, a multi-games table and a Wii. There’s an abundance of materials for art and other creative projects, as well as sports equipment for outdoor play.

The Club’s coordinator organizes a range of indoor and outdoor activities, and prepares a substantial, healthy snack.

The After School Club is all about spending fun afternoons in a relaxed, social atmosphere. (And of course, there’s always the opportunity to get homework done …. Or not.)
